About

This website is dedicated to all the alumni and fans of the drum corps known as the Kewanee Black Knights, the Geneseo Knights, the Quad City Knights, or any of the other names the corps has gone by over the years. The corps may not march much these days, but the Knights live on in the hearts and memories of the many alumni and fans.

About the Webmaster

Scott Lawson (hereafter referred to as I) was born and raised in Macomb, IL. I started playing the trombone in junior high and through high school. During high school, my best friend at the time took (dragged) me to the Knights March 1993 camp at Woodruff High School in Peoria, IL. I didn’t march the 1993 season, however, the following year, I attended the January camp and ended up marching through the 1994 and 1995 seasons with the Knights. When the corps folded after the 1995 season, I tried out for the Dubuque Colts. Because of what I was able to learn at the Knights, I was able to obtain a lead baritone spot with the Colts. I marched there from 1996 until I aged out in 2000. In May 2000, I married my high school sweetheart, Sarah (yes, I was married when I marched my age out year, she came along for most of the season as a volunteer cook). In October of 2007, we had our first kid, a daughter named Addison. I am currently employed as the Webmaster for the Administrative Services Division at Western Illinois University.
